If you are on the way to Italy or Croatia and you are looking for an overnight accommodation your can find it in our guest house.

The comfortable “Gästehaus Obwexer” is located right in the centre of Matrei in Osttirol. Matrei is situated in the middle of the national park Hohe Tauern in an unique, charming an picturesque countryside.

The “Großglockner Skiresort” is not only an area with snow guaranteed but it is also the largest skiing area in the eastern part of Tyrol with more than 110 km ski runs of different levels of difficulties. In winter the ski bus stops right in front of our house which is an important advantage for our guests. You can keep your skiing outfit (skis, snowboards, skiing boots) in a safe room in our skiing cellar.

In summer Matrei is the ideal starting point for a lot of hiking-, mountain- and trekking tours. The so-called “Adlerweg” runs directly past Matrei, too. We also offer you the possibility to keep your luggage for reasonable prices, if you are planning a hiking tour for several days. You will have unforgettable experiences an days in the area of our national park.

Among skiing and hiking the countryside of the national park Hohe Tauern will invite you to try or do a lot of other various kinds of sports and free time activities like cycling, mountain biking, climbing, mountaineering, motorbiking, rafting or canyoning.

In addition to all the comforts the “Gästehaus Obwexer” has a free and unlimited W-LAN.
